Investis IQ Corporate Website ranking launched in Germany

Investis has extended its IQ Benchmarking service to the German market with the release of a ranking of DAX30 and MDAX companies, which will be launched at the 12th Annual DIRK Conference in Frankfurt on Monday 18th May. Deutsche Post heads the rankings, with Deutsche Bank, BASF, Thyssen Krupp and E.ON making up the top 5 in our survey.

The corporate websites of leading German public companies score well overall, although DAX30 companies are generally of a markedly higher standard than those companies in the MDAX. Only five of the top 30 websites are MDAX companies (Altana, Hannover Re, Fresenius SE, Celesio and SGL Carbon), while only three DAX30 companies feature in the bottom half of the table. One of the principle differences between the indices is in the quality of CSR information provided, with a surprising 30% of MDAX companies scoring no points in our survey on this measure.

DAX30 companies compare well with UK companies in the FTSE100 index, while MDAX companies score marginally less well than their FTSE250 counterparts. Companies in both German indices tend to serve their Media audiences much better than their UK peers and do a better job of explaining the drivers of their business performance.

Commenting on the survey, Investis Director Al Loehnis said "The leading websites in the index are genuinely world-class. They provide not just company detail but a broad sense of the market context and they use the strengths of the web really well in bringing their companies to life."

The full ranking and a report on the survey can be found on http://www.investis.com/investis/aboutus/iqranking/, along with details of the methodology and information about our IQ Benchmarking service.

Detailed analysis of their IQ Benchmarking scores and those of their peers are provided on a quarterly basis to Investis clients as part of our ongoing service.
